“Fatah Movement Central Committee member and [Fatah] General Commissioner for Arab and China Relations Abbas Zaki issued a call to the national parties and progressive political forces in the Arab homeland for the 100th anniversary of the Balfour Promise (i.e., Declaration), in which he demanded that they consider Nov. 2, 2017, as a day of Arab rage in all of the Arab capitals and cities… Zaki explained that this is meant to force Britain to bear its moral, political, humanitarian, and legal responsibility for the consequences of the oppressive promise, and to demand that it correct the historical injustice that led to the uprooting of our Palestinian people, its expulsion, and the occupation of its homeland… He said that the ominous Balfour Promise is the greatest crime that has been committed against the Palestinian people for 100 years, and it is a type of strengthening of the strategic interests of the colonialist forces, which adopted, supported, and strengthened the Zionist project, goals, and presence in Palestine, the heart of the Arab homeland. This was in order to prevent its unity, take over its resources, divide it, split it, and undermine its stability, so that Israel would always be a hostile body to its surroundings and require backing from the colonialist states.”
