“Director of [PLO] Commission of Prisoners and Released Prisoners’ Affairs Qadri Abu Bakr said that Israel, throughout its occupation of the Palestinian lands, has been showing overt hostility to the Palestinians’ freedom and human rights and specializing in the daily torture of all parts of the Palestinian people, and particularly the prisoners and their families.
Abu Bakr said this during his participation in the reception for hero Mahmoud Jabarin (i.e., Israeli Arab who murdered a Palestinian he suspected of collaborating with Israel), 60, from Umm Al-Fahm in the occupied Palestinian Interior (i.e., Palestinian term for Israel), who was released on Oct. 7, after having served 30 years in the occupation’s prisons…. Abu Bakr congratulated fighter Jabarin – who is considered one of the most senior members of the prisoners’ movement – on his release, and praised his resolve and his sacrifice throughout the years of his imprisonment…
In addition, Abu Bakr visited the Nablus and Tubas districts and met with representatives of institutions and released prisoners. He emphasized to them that the commitment to the prisoners and their families continues until they achieve their freedom, and that the leadership has many [options] in order to respond to Israel’s intent – with the support of the US – to harm the Palestinian tax money and deduct the allowances (mukhassasat) of the Martyrs (Shahids) and prisoners from it.”
