“PLO Executive Committee Secretary Saeb Erekat held separate meetings with eight members of the French National Assembly accompanied by French Consul General Pierre Cochard, with the head of the [Temporary] International Presence in Hebron (TIPH), and with European Union Representative in Palestine Ralph Tarraf… Erekat emphasized the State of Palestine’s rejection of the theft of the Palestinian people’s money through the deduction and theft of 42 million [Israeli] shekels a month (refers to implementation of Israeli law to deduct terror salaries from PA tax money; see note below –Ed.), and also emphasized the Palestinian leadership’s decision not to receive the tax money if the deduction is carried out.”
